Leivi
Leivi is not a typical fisherman's village gathered up
and dominating a bay along the Ligurian Riviera. It is instead an exception
to the hilly local countryside overlooking the sea. Its houses and
villas are scattered all over the hills among the olive tree cultivations
that cover the entire area from top to botton (foot) up to the town
of Chiavari.
They are linked to one another both by the main winding road which passes by fìve small churches and by old, plcturesque paths made by the local people in the old times and which are still very proudly well maintained up to today. Leivi is mainly well known as a d.o.p. centre for olive oil production and is an interesting alternative for a touristic trip for those who want to reach the inland areas at the back of Chiavari.
